Hello World!

So it is about time for me to start my blog.  I am a cook, musician, tinkerer, and thinker and I need a place to park my recipes and other musings. This is it.

Currently I am playing with sous vide cooking in a quest for more awesome proteins.  Here's a pic of my current rig in action.

Those are some ribeyes vacuum packed with a little thyme and rosemary that will go in the 125F bath for an hour and a half.  Finishing with my torch and serving with some mashed potatoes is the endgame.

Note the sous vide rig.  It is a Nesco 18qt roaster (with the lining pan removed) set to max and a Dorkfood sous vide controller.  The roaster was a gift many years ago and the Dorkfood ran me $100.  Overall I couldn't be happier.  The constant clicking from the controller made me relocate the SV rig to a table on my patio.  This also frees up my counters for prep work. Ignore the absurd number of vodka bottles in the background, I think there is a good explanation for that, but I can't come up with it right now.

Overall;  this blog is for those who are barking up the same culinary tree as I am and it will serve as a reference library for me when I am not in my kitchen.
